two main types of duct cleaning

There are two types of duct cleaning equipment companies can use when they’re cleaning your ducts to improve air quality and keep everyone in your building safe and healthy.  Called rotary brush units and push/pull vacuum systems. These two systems most widely used  for commercial duct cleaning projects. And used to dislodge dust and other particles from your air duct. Both systems work at removing dirt and debris from your ducting, but they are both very different in what they accomplish.

Rotary brush system

A rotary brush system utilizes a round brush that is attached to a long cable. A motor spins the brush like a drill. As the brush rotates, it removes dirt and dust from the inside of the duct. While brushes do a reasonably good job of removing debris from round pipes, they don’t reach corners very well. Thus, they don’t get all the dirt. Brushes also get tangled in the ducts and are sometimes hard to remove. Once a brush becomes entangled, it takes a lot of effort to get it out of the ducts. Rotary brushes are normally best for ducts that haven’t been cleaned for a considerable period. As this system tends to consist of handheld equipment that can easily be moved from one room to another, it’s normally ideal for small offices and homes.
Due to the ever increasing demands of legislation and insurance providers duct cleaning without any form of recording and certification is worthless.

push/pull vacuum system

push–pull amplifier is a type of electronic circuit that uses a pair of active devices that alternately supply current to, or absorb current from, a connected load. This kind of amplifier can enhance both the load capacity and switching speed. Duct cleaning equipment based on Push/pull vacuum systems are often able to deliver ten times more negative air pressure than a rotary brush system. It can dislodge much bigger forms of debris and infestations. As it features a narrow air hose, it can offer sharp turns and make its way through dampers.
These systems are the best match for industrial and commercial environments where a rotary brush may not be sizeable enough for the task.
